This was originally meant as a jam for a sound check to set levels on the tape machine. Later, during a particularly good take for a different song Augie stopped abruptly. "Why did you stop"! Everyone asked. "I'm kicking' a dead horse here" was his reply, having put the bass drum beater through the drum head. Thus the photo, as well as the name.
